Dr Stephen Weller

Dr Stephen Weller has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, Master of Commerce from the University of Western Sydney, MBA from the University of Technology in Sydney and a PhD from Victoria University in the field of organisational justice and workplace change. He is President of the Association of Tertiary Education Management (ATEM) and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM).
Previously Pro Vice Chancellor Students and Technology at Victoria University in Melbourne, and a former Campus Manager of the University of Queensland’s Gatton Campus. Dr Weller took up his appointment at JCU in January 2010, having occupied senior positions at four other tertiary institutions and having worked in the tertiary education sector for the last twenty years.
Dr Weller is the most senior executive based at JCU Cairns and is a member of the Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Committee. He has leadership and responsibility for university strategy in the areas of equity and diversity, engagement and communications, the student experience, information and community technology, and international education.
