Andrew's experience has spanned higher education and consultancy and he has held a wide range of senior leadership roles within the higher education sector.

At Swinburne University of Technology, Andrew was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) from 2007 to 2012. This included extended periods as Acting Vice-Chancellor.  During this time, Swinburne experienced a step change in research performance and associated global rankings.

As Dean of Science and Technology at Deakin from 2005 to 2007 Andrew oversaw a realignment of the Faculty transofrming systemic financial losses to surpluses.

Prior to Deakin, Andrew wa Head of School and Professor of Business Systems at Monash University. Andrew was at Monash for 12 years.

Within the consulting profession, Andrew has held senior roles with Deloitte in London and Price Waterhouse in Melbourne. In these roles Andrew led project teams on a diverse range of high profile projects - including electricity privatisation in the UK and corporatisation in Victoria.

Since 2012, Andrew has been principal consultant for iMORSE, a boutique higher education consultancy. He has worked with 13 Australian Universities and private providers in this capacity on a range of strategic, research, teaching, regulatory, governance and finance related projects.  He is also an Associate of both Nous and Price Waterhouse.

Andrew is a Fellow of both the Australian Computer Society and the UK based Operations Research Society.  In addition to his role with the LH Martin Institute, Andrew is also an Honorary Professiorial Fellow of the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, a medical research institute of the University of Melbourne.
