Mr Daniel Abell

PhD Candidate

Daniel is a Class of 2012 graduate from our Masters in Tertiary Education Management program. He has previously completed a Masters in human resource management and an undergraduate degree in education.

Using the challenge of attracting academic staff to regional universities as the basis for exploration, Daniel’s research examines organisational attractiveness for talented early career knowledge workers. This research sees Daniel investigating the nexus between human resource management, marketing and organisational strategy in the tertiary education sector.

Daniel also has a strong interest in international education and talent mobility, fostered through his experience as a Lecturer in Human Resource Management for CQUniversity Brisbane, where he commenced in 2009. During this time, he has awarded the ‘Lecturer of the Year’ award for the campus on two occasions, along with the ‘Office of Learning & Teaching Director’s Award for Learning and Teaching (Team)’, the ‘Campus Director’s Award for Learning and Teaching’, and the ‘Deputy Vice Chancellor (International) Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching’.
