The Graduate Certificate in Quality Assurance (GCQA)

The LH Martin Institute welcomes applications for the GCQA 2011 Program from 1 August 2010. The GCQA is a one year part-time, on-line, professionally oriented graduate program. This will be the program’s second year intake, following excellent student feedback from the first cohort.
This on-line program has been developed in close consultation with the International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE). It is aimed at professionals working in both national quality assurance agencies and those involved in quality assurance and management at the institutional level. The GCQA is awarded by the University of Melbourne and has professional recognition internationally.
Being a fully on-line program, it offers maximum flexibility. Participants follow two compulsory modules after which they choose one of two electives. Program staff are drawn from the international field of experts in quality assurance and higher education policy and management.
Features of the program:
- a comprehensive academic program for the training and professional development of QA professionals
- well-informed perspectives on the issues and challenges for tertiary education systems and institutions, with a particular emphasis on the role of QA in a dynamic sector
Participants can expect:
- integrated learning via theory, case studies, moderated discussion boards, webinars and work-based assignments
- a fully on-line program developed according to the current state of the art on-line teaching, supported by extensive program resources
- scope to choose assignments aligned with personal development and career aspirations.
Candidates for this program are expected to have:
- an undergraduate degree or equivalent
- at least two years of relevant experience
- current employment in the sector, and employer support to attend the program.
L H Martin Institute Scholarships
LH Martin Institute will offer a limited number of scholarships in 2011, which will cover 50% of the program fees.

The LH Martin Institute will offer a strictly limited number of scholarships to support outstanding candidates from less developed or low-income countries, in accordance with the INQAAHE Development Fund country criteria. The scholarships will cover 50% of the program fees.
