Australia’s tertiary education sector: the need for coherence

Following the release of the Bradley Review and the implementation of reforms for the VET sector in some states – Australia is in need of a coherent framework for its tertiary sector. At present, policy reforms work in parallel or in opposition, but rarely in concert, across the VET and higher education sectors.
To co-locate or not co-locate: Is that the question anymore?

Recently, the LH Martin Institute ran a conference that included a session titled ‘Battle of the Models’. The models, not necessarily at war with each other, are about how best to have further and higher education work together - whether through co-location, dual-sector institutions, mixed-sector partnerships, or private dual/mixed sector.
