Global vision for higher education needs government support

During the last decade it has become apparent that the future of higher education will be non-national. As unprecedented numbers of students traverse the globe in search of world-class education, the world’s higher education institutions continue to do battle in the well documented ‘global brain race’. Recent literature and commentary has shone the spotlight of this intellectual campaign for educational supremacy firmly on China and the shift in the flow of intellectual capital from East to West, as emerging economies in East and West Asia continue to move from strength to strength.
