Managers for a Demand Driven Environment

Long term managers of tertiary education institutions have seen numerous changes over the last 20 years. Most of them are enough to test the resolve of a great many. Since 1990, we have seen large amalgamations of tertiary education institutions, the rise and rise of the private sector, the creation of a several billion dollar export industry and numerous other changes to the landscape.They have been there whilst managerial professionalism became the buzz word of how to manage a tertiary education institution and worked through continued re-structures in individual institutions, be they universities, TAFE or private providers.
