VET Leadership for the Future: Contexts, Characteristics & Capabilities
Project status: Completed
The LH Martin Institute and the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) have completed a new study, VET Leadership for the Future: Characteristics, Contexts and Capabilities, which draws together reviews, prior research and a national survey of 327 practising VET leaders to define strategies for identifying and developing future leaders, in response to the looming succession crisis.
Results of this study are detailed in a new report - VET Leadership for the Future: Contexts, Characteristics & Capabilities published by the LH Martin Institute and the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).
This report has direct implications for ensuring leadership in VET is most effective, and for framing evidence-based capacity development. It contends that the future capacity of VET in Australia will be underpinned by the capability and regeneration of its leadership. To assist the sector, and in particular the people who find themselves running large and complex training organisations, this report paints a picture of what VET leaders do, and of how they can do it best.
