Based on two studies carried out over 2010-2011, this seminar's speakers from the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS), University of Twente, the Netherlands will provide an overview of policy initiatives relating the quality of teaching to funding and the development of institutional performance contracts to achieve increased differentiation in a number of selected countries. These include: Denmark, England and Wales, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden. The studies highlight the complexities involved in actually achieving institutional differentiation, but also offer valuable insights in approaches that appear to have a degree of success. There will be ample opportunity for discussion with our Dutch colleagues.
Senior Research Associate, CHEPS
